Design Director

The position could be an excellent next step for a Senior Designer with strong technical expertise who is ready to move into leadership. A Dallas-based company specializing in commercial workplace furniture is looking to hire a Creative Director to lead its design team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with a strong technical understanding of commercial furniture who can support designers, solve technical challenges, and improve the way the department operates. The successful candidate will oversee a team of designers while remaining actively involved in project delivery, providing technical guidance on furniture specification, space planning, and design execution. The role requires someone who can confidently answer technical questions, make informed design decisions, and ensure projects are delivered accurately and efficiently. Experience with CET Designer is preferred. The business is looking for someone who will take ownership of the department, mentor and develop designers, introduce more efficient processes, and encourage greater collaboration across the team. Requirements: • Experience in commercial furniture and workplace design. • Strong technical knowledge of furniture systems, specifications, and space planning. • Experience using CET Designer. • Leadership experience, or the ability to demonstrate readiness for a leadership role. • A proactive approach to mentoring designers, improving processes, and driving collaboration. The position offers a salary of up to $125,000, depending on experience, with a hybrid working schedule of four days in the office and one floating work-from-home day.
