Why this role is interesting

Join an innovative housing development company on a mission to address one of the nation's most pressing challenges: housing affordability. As a Project Architect, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality prefabricated housing projects, helping bring new communities to life through efficient design, permitting, and construction processes. Working within a vertically integrated organization that manages every stage of development, you will have the opportunity to drive projects from feasibility through completion while collaborating with a talented team of designers, engineers, and builders. Based in Austin, TX, this role is ideal for a hands-on architect looking to make a meaningful impact and grow with a fast-scaling business. Key Responsibilities • Lead project delivery from site feasibility and concept development through entitlement, permitting, and construction support. • Prepare and develop complete permitting and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. • Coordinate with structural, MEP, and local consulting teams to address site-specific requirements and project needs. • Manage relationships with planning and building departments to secure approvals and maintain project schedules. • Provide construction-phase support through RFIs, submittal reviews, field issue resolution, and continuous product improvement feedback. Skills and Experience • 6-10+ years of professional architectural experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects through permitting and construction. • Strong expertise in site planning, zoning analysis, building codes, and regulatory compliance, including IBC and IRC knowledge. • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with local jurisdictions, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders. • Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software, including Revit and visualization tools such as Enscape. • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills; experience with prefabricated, modular, or panelized construction is a plus. Benefits & Culture • Opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization focused on improving housing accessibility and affordability. • Collaborative and entrepreneurial environment with exposure to all aspects of the development and construction lifecycle. • Significant ownership, autonomy, and opportunities for future leadership growth. • Comprehensive benefits package and paid time off. • Eligibility for company equity programs and long-term career development opportunities.
