Role summary
We have an extremely exciting opportunity for a talented Project Architect with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience to join a highly respected architectural practice in Oxford. This is an excellent opportunity for an architect looking to build their career within Oxford while continuing to work on ambitious, high-value projects. Part of a successful national practice with studios across the UK, the Oxford team delivers a diverse portfolio spanning science & technology, education, research, commercial and masterplanning. The role would suit a technically strong architect who is ready to take on greater responsibility, have genuine influence on projects, and work alongside an experienced team delivering some of the region's most exciting developments. You’ll be involved in projects ranging from complex refurbishments through to major developments valued at £60m+, taking an active role from technical design through to construction. Working closely with senior leadership, clients, consultants and contractors, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your project leadership skills while contributing to innovative and impactful work across a broad range of sectors. For architects based in Oxford or looking to make the move away from London, this offers the opportunity to combine the scale and ambition of a national practice with the benefits of working and building a long-term career in Oxford. Key Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate project delivery from RIBA Stage 4 onwards, ensuring technical excellence throughout the construction phase. • Develop comprehensive technical drawing packages and detailed construction information. • Coordinate consultants, contractors and specialist stakeholders throughout the delivery process. • Manage project packages and deliverables, ensuring programmes and project requirements are met. • Undertake site inspections, monitor construction progress and respond to on-site queries. • Support contract administration and contribute to the successful delivery of projects through construction. • Collaborate closely with senior architects and project leaders on large-scale, complex developments. • Contribute to the continued success and growth of the Oxford studio within a wider national practice. Skills & Experience • Qualified Architect with 3-5 years' post-Part III experience. • Proven experience delivering projects from RIBA Stage 4 onwards. • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of UK Building Regulations. • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and contractors. • Confident carrying out site inspections and resolving technical issues during construction. • Excellent Revit skills and experience working within BIM environments. • Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities. • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership of project responsibilities.
