Based in one of DC's most creative neighbourhoods, this forward-focused practice is known for workplace interiors that are as technically rigorous as they are beautifully resolved. They're now looking for a senior interior designer who can own a room — whether that's a client presentation, a construction administration meeting, or a mentoring session with a junior designer finding their feet. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design vision on workplace interior projects, developing concepts, finish palettes, and refined design aesthetics that make spaces genuinely compelling. • Produce detailed, high-quality construction document sets with rigorous coordination and a high-end design sensibility throughout. • Manage code analysis (ADA, IBC, and beyond) and coordinate across the full consultant team — architectural, MEP, lighting, acoustic, security, and more. • Drive construction administration for interior renovations and new commercial developments from start to finish. • Translate complex briefs into clear presentations and detailed design documentation that bring clients along for the ride. • Mentor and guide junior designers through every phase of the design process — from first concept to final punch list. Skills & Experience • 8–15 years of experience in interior design or architecture with a strong focus on workplace interiors. • Advanced proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, Bluebeam Studio, and InDesign; excellent 3D modelling skills are highly valued. • Familiarity with construction administration platforms such as TonicDM, Newforma, PlanGrid, Procore, Autodesk Build, or Kahua. • In-depth experience in space planning, FF&E specifications, and materials selection for commercial interiors. • Proven leadership and mentorship skills — you bring people up as well as deliver great work. • NCIDQ certification or architectural licensure preferred; LEED and/or WELL accreditation is a bonus. • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Interior Design or Architecture; valid US work permit required.
