Project Manager | Interiors (NYC)

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Interiors to join a globally recognized hospitality and destination design practice. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex, high-profile hospitality, mixed-use, residential, and entertainment projects while managing multidisciplinary teams, driving client relationships, and ensuring successful project delivery from concept through completion. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring project goals, expectations, and requirements are clearly communicated and achieved. • Lead multiple interior architecture and design projects simultaneously, overseeing schedules, budgets, staffing, and overall project execution. • Collaborate with design leaders and technical teams to guide projects through all phases, including programming, design development, documentation, construction administration, FF&E coordination, and project closeout. • Manage project delivery processes, ensuring quality standards, project milestones, and financial objectives are met. • Prepare and maintain project schedules, work plans, budgets, and resource allocations. • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project momentum. • Lead project meetings, document key decisions, and track action items to ensure accountability and clear communication. • Monitor project financial performance, including contract management, forecasting, staffing plans, and profitability. • Provide technical leadership and oversight of construction documentation, detailing, material applications, and adherence to design intent. • Mentor and develop team members, supporting both project success and professional growth. • Assist with business development initiatives, including fee proposals, project scoping, contract negotiations, and pursuit of new opportunities. • Support leadership in securing repeat business and cultivating long-term client relationships. Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field. • Professional licensure preferred. • Sustainability or environmental accreditation preferred. • 10+ years of experience within interior architecture or interior design, including significant project management responsibilities. • Proven experience managing projects through all phases of design and construction. • Strong client-facing skills with demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships. • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring designers. • Comprehensive understanding of project planning, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration. • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, architectural systems, material applications, and detailing. • Experience with FF&E selection, specification, and implementation. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and other industry-standard design software. • Revit experience preferred. • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. • Ability to travel as required for project and client needs.
